As a follower of Jesus Christ, my primary allegiance is not to the United States nor its president, whomever he or she may be.  My allegiance is to Jesus Christ my Lord and King.  For you see, this world is not my home.  This world, of which the United States of America is just one more nation in the cycle of nations, is flawed. This world is declining. This world is condemned.

Hypocrisy for us as Christians is not always as identifiable as we would assume.  While we would not bow down to and worship some man-made image of some false god, we have any number of idols that draw our allegiance in life.  Today’s idols are found more within the self that on the shelf.
